Best Bass Guitar Books | Play the Bass Guitar Like a ProfessionalForgot your password? Just wondering, I know there are s of threads similar to this, but there're just too many books out there for me to do my research one by one. I've got some pretty decent experience on guitar so that has helped me get my hands on a bass, but I'm really keen on learning bass the proper way can't afford a tutor at the moment, so looking for other alternatives. Could you guys recommend some good books for me to start on? I'm a pretty fast learner so I can be moving to advance books shortly after I get started. I'd also really like to improve on slapping since I'm only learning bits and there from youtube. Slapping and technique are better learned by video.

It's great that there are so many instructional books on the market these days, but as a teacher, I have yet to find a single comprehensive introductory method book that I can unconditionally recommend to my students. I'm looking specifically for a book which would progress from beginning to intermediate level, and cover technique, reading, basic theory including chords and scales, improvisation, and perhaps provide analysis of sample bass lines in several styles of music.
